PRIMUS-UNIVERSITY OF GHANA collaboration

In April, The Primus project , held an event in collaboration with the University of Ghana . This event was a significant milestone, bringing together experts, students, and stakeholders to discuss innovative solutions for plastic waste management. The event took place on 25-26 of april, but from April 24 to 29, we also attended other events beyond the workshop organized by Primus Project.

The  24th of April  we visited the Propak conference in Accra in which our host Prof. David Dodoo-Arhin from the University of Ghana was a part of the KPMG panel discussion. We visited the booths and participated in listening to the panel discussion with Mathilde, in representation of Plastic Recyclers Europe. On April 25 and April 26 we had the PRIMUS-University of Ghana workshop on the campus. We presented the project and heard speeches from local recyclers and students. It was very interesting and a successful event. And finally on April 29 we visited the recycling site of Universal Plastic Products & Recycling Ltd (UPPR) a bit outside the capital Accra. Our local host at the recycling site was Assistant Manager Ishmael N. S. Quaye.

We were represented by our partners: Ana Rita Neiva from Coolrec, Jarkko J Saarinen from the University of Eastern Finland, and Mathilde Taveau from Plastics Recyclers Europe.

Experts shared insights on innovative recycling methods, circular economy principles, and community engagement. The workshop aimed to empower local stakeholders, foster collaboration, and drive impactful change towards a cleaner environment.
