IASIM-2024
The PRIMUS Project attended the International Association for Spectral Imaging (IASIM)-2024 from July 6th to 10th, represented by VTT, a key project partner. Francisco Senna Vieira presented a poster showcasing groundbreaking results from the PRIMUS project on the prediction and mapping of degradation degree in acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) and high impact polystyrene (HIPS) using near-infrared hyperspectral imaging. It was an exceptionally interesting event!
Francisco explained: “It was a great pleasure to attend IASIM 2024 in Bilbao! I had the opportunity to present some results of my work within the PRIMUS Project EU related to mapping the degradation degree of plastic waste with hyperspectral imaging.
And I was happy to see the strong presence of our Optical Spectroscopy team there!
My colleague Carolina Santos Silva delivered a keynote talk about the use of supercontinuum sources in hyperspectral imaging – the foundations of the active hyperspectral sensing (AHS), a unique technology from VTT developed during the past 10 years.
Speaking of AHS, my colleague Teemu Kääriäinen presented some of the latest advances of this technology: an push-broom active hyperspectral imager.
It was also great to meet some former colleagues from Universidade Estadual de Campinas! I was especially pleased to hear the keynote talk by Cristiane Vidal about using hyperspectral imaging for microplastics classification.”
